Liton may lead the Test against Afghanistan

Kriralok Desk: Doubts about the captaincy is over now. At the end of the drama, the burden of leadership is rising on the shoulders of Liton Das. The wicket-keeper batsman will lead the team in the Test against Afghanistan.

Shakib Al Hasan, the regular captain of the Tigers in Tests, could not play the third ODI after suffering a finger injury while fielding in the second ODI of the series against Ireland. Later it is known that he will miss the upcoming Afghanistan series as well.

With Shakib’s injury, the team management had to face the problem of who would take on the captaincy duties. Because Liton, who served as the vice-captain in Tests, has expressed his reluctance to take over the captaincy. Liton feels that the added responsibility of captaincy may affect his batting. So Liton did not want to take this opportunity to captain.

But in the end, Liton Das agreed to be the captain. The right-handed wicket-keeper batsman will therefore be seen in a new role in white in the Afghanistan series. Chief selector Minhajul Abedin said so.

BCB director and former captain Akram Khan recently spoke to the media about who will lead the Test against Afghanistan. He said that Nazmul Hossain Shanto or Mehdi Hasan Miraj can lead the Test as well. He said, we have 5-6 people in mind to be the captain.

However, Liton’s acceptance of the captaincy will give relief to the team management. Because BCB made him the vice-captain maybe because of Liton’s leadership qualities. The Test match will start on June 14 at Mirpur Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium.
