Kriralok Desk: Argentina had already secured the second round by winning the first two matches of the U-20 World Cup group stage. The goal was to win the third and final match to become the group champion. In their last match in ‘Group A’, the youth of Argentina beat New Zealand 5-0.
The match was held on Friday (May 26) night at Estadio San Juan del Bicentenario in Argentina at 3 pm (Bangladesh time). Ignacio Maestro, Gino Infantino, Luka Romero, Brian Aguirre and Alejo Veliz scored for Albiceleste.
In the 14th minute of the match, striker Ignacio Maestro’s goal led the hosts. Forward Gino Infantino doubled the lead in the 17th minute. Romero added another goal to the score board in the 35th minute. They went into the break with a 3-0 goal lead.
After the break, Brian Aguirre completed a goal with a penalty in the 50th minute. The fifth goal came from the foot of Alejo Velez in the 86th minute. 9 points for the host country in this win. Uzbekistan is second in Group A with 4 points.
Earlier, Argentina beat Uzbekistan 2-1 in their first match. In the second match, they won 3-0 against Guatemala.
It should be noted that Argentina could not qualify for this year’s World Cup. The team got the opportunity to participate in the World Cup as the host by changing the venue from Indonesia to Argentina. However, Argentina holds the record for the highest number of titles won in the tournament (6 times).
