
Kriralok Desk: Bangladesh got off to a good start in the Junior Asia Cup Hockey by defeating the hosts Oman 2-0. The red-green team scored two goals in the second quarter of the B-Group match on Tuesday night at the Salalah Sports Complex.
Tasin Ali scored the first goal after 22 minutes. Zahid Hossain doubled the gap two minutes later.
Bangladesh’s next match is on May 25, against Malaysia. Malaysia opened the tournament by beating Uzbekistan 8-1 in their first match.
10 countries has participated in this year’s event. Bangladesh, India, Pakistan, Malaysia, South Korea, Japan, Oman, Uzbekistan, Chinese Taipei and Thailand. 4 countries will get the chance to play in the semi-finals and will get tickets to play in the Junior World Cup.
