
Kriralok Desk: Men’s Junior Asia Cup Hockey-2023 is starting today in Oman. And on the first day of the tournament, the Bangladesh team is going to enter the field against the hosts. The match will be held in Salalah, Oman at 10 pm (Bangladesh time).
Bangladesh is playing in the ‘B’ group in the 10-nation Junior Asia Cup Hockey. In addition to the hosts, Malaysia, South Korea and Uzbekistan are the opponents in this group. And Group A includes India, Pakistan, Japan, Thailand and Chinese Taipei. Among them, the best four teams of the tournament will qualify for the Youth World Cup.
Meanwhile, when Oman-Bangladesh face each other in hockey, tense tension spreads. Be it senior or age group. And it is quite challenging. Besides, in the final of the Junior AHF Cup held in Oman in January of this year, Bangladesh-Oman fought hard. If the game ends 1-1, the fate of the final will be decided in a penalty shootout. Bangladesh won 7-6.
Earlier, the Bangladesh team had a 20-day conditioning camp and played 10 matches in Haryana, India to prepare themselves for the tournament before going to Oman. From there, the junior hockey team went directly to Oman.
