Shakib’s farewell, Bangladesh under great pressure

Kriralok Desk: Batting against England, Bangladesh was under pressure after losing two openers Tamim Iqbal and Liton Das in the power play. However, Nazmul Hossain Shanto and Mushfiqur Rahim were taking the lead of the innings in the third wicket pair.

But Mushfiqur was cut by the English spin before the team crossed the 100-run barrier. After that, the poster boy Shakib also took the way to the dressing room. As a result, the hosts are under a lot of pressure due to the fear of batting disaster.

As of writing this report, Bangladesh has collected 109 runs for 4 wickets after 24 overs. Nazmul Hossain Shanto, who is one down, is batting unbeaten on 41 runs off 47 balls. Mahmudullah Riyad is unbeaten by 2 runs as his partner at the crease.

Bangladesh won the toss and decided to bat first at Mirpur Sher-e Bangla National Cricket Stadium on Wednesday (March 1). The start of the innings was done by the two openers Tamim-Liton. In the second over, Tamim was giving Bangladesh a dream by hitting a pair of boundaries off English speedster Jofra Archer.

Liton at the other end was trying to settle down at the crease. He signaled the attack by hitting a spectacular six off Chris Oakes in the fifth over. But in the next ball, Liton was trapped by leg before and left after scoring 7 runs.

After that, Tamim led Bangladesh’s innings with Nazmul Hossain Shanto. They took the team’s total to over fifty in the tenth over. But when Mark Wood bowled cleanly in the third ball of the over, the Bangladesh captain scored 23 runs in four boundaries from 32 balls.

In the third wicket pair, Nazmul Hossain Shanta and experienced Mushfiqur Rahim focused on repairing the innings. But Mushfiq returned with a catch by Mark Wood in the leg spinner Adil Rashid’s whirlwind for the team’s 95 runs.

After that, Shakib Al Hasan crossed the boundary of the team’s century by hitting the boundary. The world’s best all-rounder scored 8 runs in 12 balls before leaving.
