Australia in a good position at the end of the first day

Kriralok Desk: Australia is in a good position at the end of the first day of the fourth and final Test against India. Ajit’s score was 255 for 4 at the end of the first day on Usman Khawaja’s century. Usman Khawaja is unbeaten on 104 runs and Cameron Green is on 49 runs at the crease.

Australia won the toss and elected to bat on Thursday (March 9). Travis Head and Khawaja came in to open. Both of them scored 61 runs in the opening pair. Ashwin returned the head to a personal 32 runs. Shami dismissed Labushan for 3 runs. Australia lost 2 wickets for 72 runs.

But Usman Khawaja and Steven Smith started the task of organizing Australia’s innings. When Smith returned, Australia were 151 for 3. They made a pair of 79 runs. Peter Handscomb didn’t get big runs either. He returned for only 17 runs. On the score board, Australia’s runs were 170 for 4 wickets.

Cameron Greene and Usman Khawaja started the innings again from this time. Khawaja completed his century shortly before the end of the first day’s play. Green also gave him worthy company.

Among the Indian bowlers, Mohammed Shami took two wickets. Ravichandran Ashwin and Ravindra Jadeja took one wicket each.

It should be noted that Australia is trailing 2-1 in the four-match Test series.
