Kriralok Desk: The English giant Arsenal was knocked out of the last sixteen of the UEFA Europa League.
The Gunners had to leave the tournament after losing a tiebreaker to Portuguese club Sporting. After 2-2 in the first leg, the second leg was tied 1-1, so the match was decided by a tiebreaker. They left after losing 5-3.
Arsenal hosted Sporting at their home ground Emirates Stadium. Arsenal took the lead in the 19th minute of the match with a goal by Granit Xhaka. However, Sporting equalized in 62 minutes.
Pedro Gonsalves scored an excellent long distance goal from the midfield. After both teams failed to score, the match was made into a tiebreaker.
Where Arsenal captain Odegaard and two forwards Saka and Trossard scored, Brazilian forward Martinelli missed the fourth shot. But Sporting scored 5 shots in a row to win and reach the quarter finals.
