Alcaraz turns to be the new king of the US Open

Kriralok Desk: A new star is about to emerge in tennis, it was sensed four months ago at the Madrid Open. Carlos Alcaraz defeated Rafael Nadal in the quarter-finals, Novak Djokovic in the semi-finals and Alexander Zverev in the final. This time he won the US Open. Alcaraz became the youngest player to win a major trophy for the first time in his career to reach the number one ranking.

Alcaraz made history by climbing to the top of the ATP rankings at the age of 19 years and 130 days. Two-time Grand Slam winner former Australian player Lleyton Hewitt topped the rankings at the age of 20 years and 268 days. The Spanish sensation broke the record he made.

Alcaraz won the first set 6-4 against Norway’s Casper Ruud in a three-hour-long battle at the Arthur Ashe Stadium late Sunday night Bangladesh time. Ruud made a great comeback in the second set.
