Sri Lanka hoping to win the series

Kriralok Desk: The Sangakkara-Jayawardene got a chance, but could not. Winning the ODI series against Australia has been elusive for Sri Lanka for 30 years. But today, in the fourth ODI in Colombo, there is another opportunity. If they win, the Lankans will get rid of the long regret of winning the series against Ajit. Captain Dasun Shanaka is also in that hope.

“The last time we lost to Australia in a bilateral ODI series was in 1992,” said Shanaka, after losing the series 2-1 to the visitors the day before yesterday. They are one of the best teams in the world and hopefully we can take the next step. I think our combination is good.”

After losing the first match, Sri Lanka defended the medium target in the second match. In the third match, Pathum Nisanka easily crossed the line with a remarkable century. Nisanka scored 137 runs off 147 balls with 11 fours and 2 sixes. This is the highest run of any Sri Lankan batsman against Ajit. Besides, Kushal Mendis scored 87 runs before retiring due to injury.
