After his recent argument with Paris Saint-Germain coach Thomas Tuchel, the future of Kylian Mbappe has once again come into focus.
Club president Nasser Al-Khelaifi has made his position clear to Mbappe’s representatives that the club are not willing to enter into negotiations regarding a transfer for the player during the summer.
A situation that plenty of Europe’s big clubs are keeping an eye on, including figures from the Estadio Santiago Bernabeu. The Frenchman’s contract comes to an end on June 30, 2022, and PSG will make more attempts to extend his current deal.Mbappe has so far turned down their offers, though not through differences over money, but the French club will not give in, and should he keep rejecting a contract renewal, PSG are prepared make him see out his current deal.
Those arguments with Tuchel, have unsettled the 2018 World Cup winner with PSG sporting director Leonardo trying to find a peaceful resolution between the two men and Mbappe is confident that a it will be found in the near future. If the feud between the pair continues, the club will then have to make a tough decision. For the moment though, everything indicates that Tuchel’s future is linked with the team’s progress in the Champions League.
If he doesn’t manage to succeed in the competition, he may well be shown the exit door, especially with the relationship with one of the club’s stars being far from ideal.
