Ireland announced the squad for the World Cup qualifiers

Kriralok Desk: The Super ‘Eight’ of the 2023 ODI World Cup in India has already been confirmed. Not being able to qualify directly, Ireland will have to go through the World Cup qualifiers to be held in Zimbabwe from June 18 to qualify for the main round. For this reason, the Irish have announced a 15-member squad for the World Cup qualifiers.

Former Zimbabwean wicketkeeper Peter Joseph Moore has been included in this squad. The right-handed batsman played 49 ODIs, 21 T20Is and 8 Tests for Zimbabwe. He made his Test debut in the Irish jersey against Bangladesh.

Stephen Dohani, the opener of the last ODI series against Bangladesh, has been left out of the World Cup qualifiers squad. Regular captain Andrew Balbirnie will lead the Irish in the World Cup qualifiers.

The Irish are in a group with Oman, Scotland, Sri Lanka and the United Arab Emirates in the qualifiers.

Ireland Squad: Andrew Balbirnie (captain), Mark Adair, Curtis Campher, Gareth Delaney, George Dockrell, Graham Hume, Joshua Little, Andy McBrien, Barry McCarthy, Peter Moore (wicketkeeper), Paul Stirling, Harry Tector, Lorcan Tucker, Ben White and Craig Young.
